Diversity and Inclusion in Marketing in 2021: Why has Nothing Changed?
by Alfie Powell, on 31 March, 2021
There has seldom been a subject more pressing and important in the current climate. Even outside of marketing, the lack of inclusion and diversity is something that has been depressingly prominent in the world.
The general rule is that if you're a good person, you want there to be equality and diversity across all aspects of life and yet there's a stunning lack of either almost everywhere you look.
In truth, it's hard to explain why and something that's born of systematic prejudices that have managed to remain over generations.
Aiming to change this is Azeem Ahmad, who is a huge proponent of Diversity and Inclusion. The Digital Marketing Manager at Staffordshire University, Ahmad has spent several years working in the marketing industry, with a blend of both agency and in-house experience. He began in a paid search focused role before moving into a multi channel specialism a few years ago. He is experienced in various aspects of online marketing activity, including PPC, Social Media, Display, Programmatic, App Marketing and SEO. He has previously spoken at conferences across Europe including MeasureFest, and BrightonSEO.
Previously, Azeem spoke about "Why you shouldn't treat Diversity as a Buzzword or a KPI," and going by how little has changed, he will be speaking at our #MarTech Fest Dial Up anti-conference about just that; Why has Nothing Changed?
You can watch this and so much more by signing up for #MarTechFest Dial Up (FOR FREE, I MIGHT ADD) and be there from the 19th to the 25th of April.
You really should sign up for our lovely - again free - #MarTechFestDialUp!!!!!! It's really good and you'll hear about all other sorts there too.
