Weekly Round up

Contentful raises €148.3M at a valuation of €2.5B

Content, a content platform for digital-first businesses that help developers create digital experiences, has raised $175M in its series F. This brings the company valuation to over $3B. The round included existing vendors, but was led by Tiger Global.

The proceeds from this round will help the company expand its global footprint in marketing and sales, as well as continue investment in building out its content platform.

Odoo Raises €180M

Belgium's Odoo has achieved "unicorn-sized" valuation after a €180M investment. The company is a provider of all-in-one, open source business software, catering to business needs, such as CRM and e-commerce.

In a blog post, Fabien Pinckaers, Founder of Odoo, mentions, “One Hundred and Eighty Million EUROS”. This is a lot of money. It’s great for our ego…but it won’t impact the company, or the community, as there will be no cash injected in the company.”

Dixa raises $105M

Customer engagement platform Dixa has raised a Series C funding round of $105M, led by General Atlantic. It is the largest Series C funding round announcement from a Danish SaaS tech company in 2021, as well as being the largest in the CX space.

This is in addition to the $36M in Series B funding the company raised in February last year.

Qualtrics Acquires Clarabridge for $1.125 Billion

Qualtrics, an experience management solutions company, has acquired omnichannel conversational analytics outfit Clarabridge for $1.125B.

The proposed transaction is expected to close during Qualtrics’ fourth quarter of fiscal year ending 31 December of this year.

Uniphore To Acquire Jacada

Uniphore, a conversation service automation company, has agreed to acquire Jacada, a customer experience business specialising in low code/no code.

The acquisition comes after Uniphore's successful Series D in March, where they raised $140M, with the round being led by Sorenson Capital Partners.

Adobe Partners With Walmart in Ecommerce

Continuing it's offering of it's tech and capabilities to businesses and brands, Walmart has joined into a strategic partnership with software firm Adobe.

The retail giant will combine its marketplace, online and in-store fulfilment and pickup technologies with the Adobe Commerce Platform.

Walmart chief technology officer and chief development officer Suresh Kumar said: “The core mission of helping people save money and live better is at the heart of every [retail] idea, including Scan and Go and checkout technologies, artificial intelligence-powered smart substitutions and pickup and delivery."

Thoma Bravo Acquires Medallia for $6.4 Billion

Thoma Bravo, a software investment firm, has acquired customer and employee experience management provider Medallia for $6.4B. Medallia, who's IPO took place in the summer of 2019, will now revert back to a private company in the deal.

Medallia will benefit from the operating capabilities, capital support and sector expertise of Thoma Bravo, according to company officials.

VntCap Technologies Acquires Bubblebox

VntCap technologies, the parent company of Allant Group, a data-driven marketing firm, has announced its acquisition of Bubblebox Holdings, a Salesforce consulting partner.

"We are absolutely thrilled to welcome Bubblebox to the VntCap Technologies family, which includes Allant Group. We look forward to quickly integrating Allant and Bubblebox services for the benefit of all our current and prospective customers," said Gaurav Issar, Allant's CEO and President.
