For this episode, we got Tom Fishburne to chat about his marketoons, his new book Your Ad Ignored Here, and exactly what gets his creative juices flowing.

Tom has introduced an alternative, unique approach to content marketing and brand storytelling. Starting as doodles on the backs of business cases, marketoons have transformed into a whole new way of delivering branded content.

Tom told us that part what motivates him is the idea of creating something of real value; 'the best marketing doesn't feel like marketing'We chatted about Tom's favourite cartoons, shinny objects syndrome, 'the power of laughing at ourselves at work', plus his creative process:

"The creative process for me is where my subconscious works on the ideas even when I'm not actively thinking about it. I find it useful to have at least 4 or 5 days to let the ideas ruminate, spending 2 hours a day coming up with as many ideas as I can.  After I've done this for a few days, the cartoon ideas will start to take shape"
